Tom Maniatis, Thomas H. Lee Professor of Molecular and Cellular Biology, has been named a co-recipient, with John Hiscott of McGill University, of the 2003 Milstein Award. The Milstein Award is presented by the International Society for Interferon and Cytokine Research to individuals who have made exceptional contributions to research related to interferons and cytokines either in a basic or clinical field.  Maniatis was cited for his outstanding contributions to the understanding of the mechanisms of interferon gene regulation.   This award represents a pinnacle of scientific achievement in the interferon field and is an important landmark of the society.
